Travel Tips : Make your travel less stressful!

Traveling could always be a hassle, whether it is a business trip or a leisure trip.

But there is always a way to reduce some stress prior and during your trip.

Check out below Travel Tips & see what you can do any difference in your next flight!

PRE-BOOKING TIPS :

1] BOOK YOUR TRIP IN ADVANCE :

  • Generally is recommended to book your trip at least 7 days prior.
  • It allows you to have multiple options to have a better price comparison.
  • Enough time to finalize your trip without last minute mishaps.

2] REQUIREMENTS TO YOUR TRIP :

  • When you bring you request to your Travel agent/consultant, ask whether you are required to apply for a Visa and provide your passport bio page copy so the agent could confirm if you require a visa or not.
  • Ask if any vaccinations are required in flying to your selected destination.

3] TRANSITS/CONNECTING FLIGHTS :

  • If you are considering in including a transit or connecting point to your trip, consider of the following tips :
    • Make sure you have enough time to connect to your next flight without rushing. Generally we recommend a minimum of 2 hours and 30 Minutes could give you enough time.
    • Reconfirm with your agent/consultant if you are required to check-in again at your transit point; if so you can request for a connection with a wider time frame.
    • Confirm if your checked luggage will be transferred to your connecting flight by the airlines involved.

4] FREQUENT FLYER DETAILS :

  • At the time of booking your trip, provide your Frequent Flyer Program number to include in your reservation.
  • Make sure your Loyalty Membership is up to date with your status and validity of your status. This probably should be checked directly with the airline.
  • Doing so, it will allows you to utilize the benefits you are entitled for.

5] BAGGAGE INFORMATION :

  • Always confirm the allowed baggage weight or piece at the time of confirming your trip; so you could prepare in advance what to take and what not to.
  • Certain airlines (Mostly budget airlines) checked luggage are not allowed free of charge; instead the passenger has to pay in advance or at the check-in counter. So confirm with your agent/consultant what is your situation and what needs to be done to minimize last minute surprises.
  • If you are taking a Transatlantic flight, get clear information of your baggage concept: they are weight concept and piece concept.
    • Weight Concept : the allowance will be calculated based on the weight of your luggage. (ex: 30Kgs in Economy)
    • Piece Concept : the allowance will be based on number of luggage you will be carrying and each luggage should maintain a weight as well (ex: 2 Pieces in Economy; each piece is allowed 23Kgs ONLY)
  • Based on the route and the airline these policies could differ; hence checking with your agent in advance, keeps you on the safe side.
  • If you are Frequent Flyer Member with a higher status which entitles you to carry extra baggage allowance free of charge; make sure that benefit is allowed in your connecting flight too.(Based on the airlines involved in your trip and your Loyalty program, these policies could differ from one airline to another. If the airline carries an internal agreement in these services, the customer will be allowed the same benefit)

PRE-DEPARTURE CHECKLIST :

1] RECONFIRM YOUR TRIP:

  • Whether you booked through your Travel Agent/Consultant or online, contact the airline you are flying with 24- 48 hours prior and check if everything is in order, such as : departure time, preferred seat, baggage allowance (checked baggage & cabin baggage).

2] ADD YOUR FFP NUMBER :

  • Best practice is to add your Loyalty number/Frequent Flyer Number at the time of booking your trip. But if you didn't, don't worry about it; call your Travel consultant or the airline and request them to include it. You can simply get this done when you are following the 1] step in the checklist.

3] WEIGH YOUR BAGGAGE :

  • Know exactly the baggage allowance you are allowed to carry ( 01st Step) and decide how much you are planning to carry. If it exceeds the ticketed baggage allowance; check with the airline what is the additional cost you have to pay and settle it prior to getting into the airport.

4] ONLINE CHECK-IN :

  • Not a fan of long queues at check-in counters? Online check-in option is there to save you. Every airline provides this facility but the time frame of this facility may differ from one airline to another. Check with the airline or check their website to find more details on this facility.

5] DOCUMENTS :

  • Take printouts of your e-ticket, boarding pass (if you have done online check-in), Visa copies, Travel Insurance, Copies of your Travel Itinerary. Keep a copy of your passport too in case of emergency. You never know what you may have to face during your trip.
