A Quick Getaway to Ahangama!

Image
On a weekend in March, me, my sister and few of my cousins decided to drive away to Ahangama for a quick getaway.  There is always a saying, last minute plans are the best ones. And yes, this was one of those; we planned closer to the dates and booked and confirmed everything right away.  And this is how we planned: Location/Accommodation: Of course, we decided to visit down south. The most common, well-known & everyone's first choice is always Galle & Unawatuna; and we all have been and visited millions of times.  Hence, we decided to move further down the coastline of down south towards Ahangama.  Since we cousins are traveling together, we obviously aren't going to be inside the rooms for the whole weekend. We thought of booking a generally comfortable and safe accommodation. We booked two Deluxe Double Bedroom with Ceagull  including breakfast.  The rooms & the bathrooms were clean, comfortable enough and built with modern facilities with ai...

First Time as a Business Traveller...Part :02

And welcome back to Part 2 of 'First Time as a Business Traveller' post. I know, it has been really long time and it's about time to update with Part 2; but hey, the best things takes time right? Well, I'll let you all be the judge of that. The Next Day.... After my delicious dinner and the some medicine I took from my fancy first-aid kit; I fell asleep like a baby and it did not even take a minute to shut my eyes, the moment my head hit the pillow, I was completely shutted down. I only woke up next day, which was Sunday 26th March '23 with no alarm and I felt well rested all energized but knowing I am having a long day ahead, I decided to order in a healthy breakfast. I am not much of a breakfast person but I am flexible enough to adapt if I am aware of what are the consequences if I do not take care of myself. So, I went ahead and ordered this breakfast which had boiled white rice, chicken and egg in different forms and mushrooms and god knows what else it was in ...

First Time as a Business Traveller...Part :01

I may have travelled as a leisure traveller several times in my life; whether it is with my family or my friends. And it has always been filled with so much excitement and so much to look forward to where basically I was never able to sleep with all the hype.  In 2022, somewhere in November, I was told by my manager that I'll be visiting Manila in 2023 to meet our new team and spend time training & mentoring for one good week. Everything will be prepaid by the company with a travel allowance in hand itself, I mean that's exciting! Days, weeks & months went by and we gradually started processing Visa, booking our flights & hotels and every other services; with that my dates were set to depart on 25th of March 2023.  Days were getting closer and I was still chilled with no excitement and no rushing, probably could be because I was occupied with my work and coordinating the tasks to complete in Manila. The excitement in being back inside an aircraft & up in the sk...

SINGAPORE : THE LITTLE PARADISE OF EVERYTHING!

Image
Four years ago, 01st November 2017 at 00:10 IST, me and my closest school friends took our first trip together to Singapore. We started off by being at the airport on 31st October night itself since it is required to be at the airport 3 hours prior to departure. I myself being in the aviation industry for some time now, I was the last one to show up while my friends were waiting for me. As I already did my online check-in, I let my friends to proceed until I get there. Once I reached out to the airport and dropped our luggages [ Lucky us the check-in counters were quite empty that night, so a colleague of mine let us check-in at the business check-in counter itself ] we headed off to immigration/emigration section right away and off to have something to drink or grab a small bite.  Our idea of taking a red-eye flight was to have the entire day for us to roam around the city once we land in our destination. Just like that, we found a really good option with Singapore Airlines, which...
